ABOUT THE PUBLISHER

CHARLES MOSELEY is the PUBLISHER & CEO of shineonsfl.com which is a digital magazine designed to showcase “SOUTH FLORIDA’S UNIQUE BLACK EXPERIENCE.” This project is the result of a desire to provide a source of information unlike any other in the region and comes on the heels of a career which spans over 35 years in the field of Black Media.

Moseley is a native of Fort Lauderdale where he graduated from Nova High School in 1974 before attending Howard University in Washington D.C., where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Print Journalism from its School of Communications.

The Westside Gazette News, Broward County’s oldest and largest African American owned and operated newspaper, was founded by Levi Henry, Jr. and wife Yvonne Henry in 1971. After graduating from Howard University Moseley, returned home to South Florida in 1979. He began his professional career as a staff writer and account executive with the Westside Gazette Newspaper.

Several years later he received an opportunity to join the staff of WRBD Radio AM 1470, which again proved to be a historically significant moment in his career. WRBD AM 1470 was South Florida’s first Black owned radio station under the management of SUNAO, an ownership group led by John Ruffin; Jr. Moseley joined the stations sales staff and also was the moderator  of the Sunday afternoon talk show “South Florida Speaks,” along with Co-Host Daphne Taylor.

At a time when the radio broadcast industry’s landscape began to change to an FM frequency once again another opportunity to evolve professionally prompted another career change during the early 1990’s he joined the sales team at WEDR Radio 99 JAMZ, which became South Florida’s No. 1 Arbitron rated radio station for many years during that time.

In 1998 Moseley returned to his “professional roots” once again donning the hat as Executive Director of Marketing & Sales at the Westside Gazette and staff writer, a position which he held until the summer of 2016.

As the Publisher and CEO of shineonsfl.com, Moseley has taken on a new career challenge with a renewed determination to inform, enlighten, entertain, and empower its readership, through examining the culture and lifestyle of the community which he has served throughout his entire career.
