Dr. Rosalind Osgood, is an amazing, loving and passionate leader. She is a proud mother of three biological children and three step children. Her two year old granddaughter, Kyla is the apple of her eye.
Dr. Osgood is a Broward County native and graduate of Fort Lauderdale High School Class of 83. While attending Fort Lauderdale High School, she was captain of the girls basketball and volleyball teams. She was also member of the track and softball teams. She was a member of DECA, FBLA and the first black to become a member of the Anchor Club.
She has matriculated through the institutions of higher learning. She attended FAMU and was a member of the FAMU Rattlerette Basketball Team from 1983-1985. She has earned both a Master’s and Doctoral Degree in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University Huzienga School of Business & Entrepreneurship.
In 2001, the late preacher extraordinaire, Dr. Mack King Carter licensed Dr Osgood as the first female preacher in the history of the New Mount Olive Baptist Church. In 2002 she was ordained and in December of 2007, she earned a Master’s of Divinity Degree from New Orleans Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She currently serves as an Associate Minister at New Mount Olive Baptist Church. Additionally, She is the Founder of Dr. Rosalind Osgood’s Ministry International, the Women Reaching Women International Prayer Ministry. She is known as anointed itinerate preacher, internationally.
Dr. Osgood has over 21 years of experience in non-profit management. She is the CEO of the Mount Olive Development Corporation (MODCO) for the past 16 years. In this capacity she has created numerous programs to help the homeless, those released from jail, those recovering from substance abuse and those infected with HIV.
She is also a Former Adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University Huizenga School of Business teaching Leadership, and Public Policy Evaluation in the Master’s of Public Administration Program. She is currently serving as an Elected Official on the Broward County School Board representing District 5.
She is the author of two academic articles and a book titled, “The Story Behind the Story”.
She is a member of numerous professional organizations to include the Zeta Rho Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated,in which she serves as the second Vice President and the Fort Lauderdale Chapter of the Links, Incorporated. She serves on various Boards to include the Broward Behavioral Health Coalition.
Dr. Osgood is known as a trailblazer. In 2015 she was the first school board member to be inducted into the Broward Education Foundation’s Hall of Fame. In 2013, Dr. Osgood became the First Female Chaplain for the City of Fort Lauderdale Police Department. She has received numerous awards to include the 2009 JM Families African American Achievers Award for community service and the 2004 Broward County Urban League’s Kathleen Wright Legacy Award for Community Service.
